Up to eight manufacturing businesses located in Kane County and Elgin will be offered an opportunity to take part in a U.S. Department of Commerce program that, on average, generates $770,000 in new export sales for each participating company. Metro Chicago Exports is introducing ExporTechTM, an innovative, customized workshop that provides an individual coach for each company, leading to an export plan in nine weeks. It is the only national program where each company develops a written export plan that is vetted by a panel of experts upon completion. The standard cost to participate in the program is $5,000. However, for the 2017 “winter cohort,” Elgin and Kane County manufacturers will receive a reduced rate of $3,000. The program is scheduled to take place on single days in April, May and June. Companies that would benefit most from ExporTechTM are: • Manufacturers that have received inquiries about exporting, but do not include it in their business plan. • Companies looking to create a holistic, strategic plan for exporting. • Manufacturers who want to export and are unsure of where to begin. • Experienced exporting manufacturers looking to target new markets. • Businesses that are looking for personalized exporting assistance. • Manufacturers looking for resources and technical assistance for exports. Companies interested in registering or have any questions should contact Lisa Reijula, Metro Chicago Exports Program Manager at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or by phone at (312) 589-5773. The EDG will be publicizing ExporTechTM to Elgin companies.
